The Challenge
Athletes never settle for average, and neither does Adidas. With many of its sponsored athletes taking to the baseball field at the World Series, Adidas wanted to show up for fans in as many ways as possible.
The team had already lined up plenty of ways to celebrate its athletes and cement its presence, from television advertising to digital banners. But it wanted to do more, and to get as close to its customers as possible.
So the company headed into the stadium seats, taking the beloved sporting staple of popcorn and giving it a unique brand twist.
I look forward to the MLB every year because this is the closest that we get to our target consumer. We talk about this a lot. We’re trying to be consumer obsessed. We want to make sure Adidas is what they choose.

The Solution
Adidas understands how personalized experiences lift customer engagement and drive sales, so when the team asked us for custom popcorn box designs, we set out to think outside the box.
Guided by the Adidas team's bold, colorful vision, our designers quickly produced mock-ups while advising on critical production factors such as shape, dimensions, coating and embossing.
With the artwork approved, it was time to get popping. Adidas needed thousands of boxes in under a week, and we delivered.
The Results
We shipped Adidas's eye-catching boxes to Washington and Houston ahead of the World Series, where game-goers received them with open arms.
For the brand, the boxes were a double win, keeping Adidas in the hearts and minds of fans in the stadium and at home thanks to ongoing TV coverage of the mesmerizing design.
On and off the field, the Adidas brand was truly woven into the DNA of the World Series.
